The truncation of the tramline around Foxhall and imminence of more radical changes to the BTS operating site at Rigby Road prompts these images from memorable days pre-light rail all taken by the author.
The rare chance to ride on Princess Street and along Blundell Street was eagerly taken up by the many enthusiasts who took up this final opportunity before redevelopment work began on the tramway - evidenced by the Council's signage in this image. Careful attention to 'trolleying' 147 on this unfamiliar trackage and overhead merited Depot staff throughout the remarkable afternoon of special workings - short in duration though they may have been but historic at the time, The automatic tram washer was kept busy to assure cleaned exteriors.
